The hosts will be looking to win their third series in four against Pakistan after winning both home and away in the last six years. The last Test series against the visitors in this country was played under strict quarantine conditions thanks to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 as England won a three-match contest 1-0.

The hosts will be looking to do much better than their last home series against New Zealand back in June, as the Kiwi's came from 1-0 down to win 2-1. That series saw Ben Stokes retire from international cricket after the third Test, before coach Brendon McCullum was sacked just a couple of weeks later.
