Morocco made it through thanks to a 3-0 victory against co-hosts Canada on Saturday, upping their game in the second half after a goalless first period, and proving that their progression at the World Cup in Qatar was no fluke. They do, however, have to find a way past the tournament favourites, who were relieved to edge past Paraguay in the last round, in a match in which the South Americans tested every ounce of patience that Les Bleus possessed, with just a Kylian Mbappe separating the sides.

Coverage of the second FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final from SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Two of Europe's footballing heavyweights go head-to-head for a place in the semi-finals, with Spain looking to add another chapter to their proud World Cup history against a talented Belgian side eager to reach the last four. Spain have progressed from each of their last four World Cup quarter-finals, while Belgium are aiming to equal their best-ever finish after claiming third place in 2018. With both nations boasting exceptional technical quality and attacking talent, this promises to be one of the standout ties of the tournament.

Coverage of the third quarter-final, which takes place at Miami Stadium in the USA. This is a step into the unknown for the Norwegians, who have never made it to a World Cup quarter-final, and did so in style, beating Brazil 2-0 in the last round, courtesy of two more goal from Erling Haaland. England overcame several obstacles to win 3-2 against Mexico in the last 16, producing one of their finest performances to hold on and book a quarter-final place, with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham once again among the goals

Argentina vs Switzerland (World Cup)

Coverage of the fourth quarter-final, which takes place at Kansas City Stadium in the USA. Current World Cup holders Argentina survived an almighty scare in the last round as they came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against Egypt. The African side had gone two goals ahead with 23 minutes remaining but three goals inside 13 minutes from Cristian Romero, Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez saw Argentina progress to their second successive quarter-final in this competition. Switzerland reached their first quarter-final since 1954 after they beat Colombia 4-3 on penalties after the game finished 0-0 in Vancouver. Before Tuesday's victory the European side had reached the round-of-16 at the last three World Cups, but heroics from goalkeeper Gregor Kobel ended that run and helped them reach this stage for the first time in 72 years
